Cambridge 105

The Cambridge Time Traveller radio show has returned to 105fm, after a six month break. The show first began there on 209radio in May 2008 and became an instant success, running until Febuary 2010 when the station sadly closed. The future looked unsure for community radio in Cambridge until Tuesday 20th July 2010, when a new community radio project called Cambridge 105 was granted the 105fm placement. The Cambridge Time Traveller show is thrilled to be a part of this new station.

Cambridge Time Traveller Group Chairman Fonz Chamberlain said:

'It's like a home coming for the Cambridge Time Traveller radio show because this is where it all began. I'm also pleased to be a part of the station because it's a project by the community for the community and is giving a lot a people a chance to get their voices heard.'

Cambridge 105 Station Diirector Axel Minet said:

'Cambridge 105 is a new Community Radio Project for the city of Cambridge. We are a volunteer-based, community-owned organisation, Cambridge 105 is here to provide a broadcast voice for Cambridge.

Right now we are specifically looking for the following contributions:

Presenters with some broadcasting experience for evening & weekend specialist music programming, particularly anyone who could record a show at home.

Experienced presenters for the daytime slots, especially the breakfast and drive time slots.

If you do not feel you fit into the above, do not worry - in the coming months we will need your help with fundraising, admin, technical support and a whole range of other opportunities. Currently we simply need to focus our attention on getting some content up and running before we can commence training sessions for those who are new to radio.

It is also great to have the Cambridge Time Traveller back on our schedule because it's a wonderful resource for sharing the history of the city'.

You can find out more about Cambridge105 at http://www.cambridge105.fm

Cambridge 105 is now broadcasting live on 105 FM seven days a week.

We have wonderful news! Dave the History Bear is the newest member of the CTTG and his goal is to help all possible young historians get involved with local history.

Dave the History Bear was a dear friend of mine when I was a child and when I needed a person to help the younger generation to get involved he was happy to come on board.

Very soon Dave will have his own website with fact sheets, competitions and prizes for younger historians and he could be paying a visit to your school very soon to help you with your local history questions and research.

Watch this space for more information on Dave
